This is a nice store with pretty much everything you could want. If you use the Safeway app you can save more money on most things than the prices inland at a WinCo.

Used the pharmacy. They are great at auto refills and work hard to make sure the line is quick. The Deli's chicken is good too.

Living in a town with only 2 grocery stores, Safeway is absolutely the best.
The other extremely waaayyy overpriced store is Fred Meyer. The groceries there have a 2 to 3 % price gouge on everything.
The closest Wal-Mart is 1 1/2 hr away either up hwy 101, a 2 lane scary drive, or over the mountain, a 2 lane road.
Here in this small beach town, Safeway has great deals. I save big every time I shop. The online app is really easy to use, and it's super awesome.
The savings help so much in these over inflated cost on every day items.

On Saturday 08/31/2024 the pharmacy staff refused to fill a prescription for me because I didn’t have the money to pick it up 2 weeks ago. So when I requested it they told me to shop for a 15 minutes and the two pharmacist male and female understood who I was and what I needed. 15 minutes later me and my knee scooter since I had foot surgery last week come back and they told me that my insurance refused to pay for my psyche med for 75mg because I had picked the same script for 37.5mg in California in July when I broke my foot and ran out of my 150mg My dr was aware of my issue and agreed to allow me to take 2x 37.5mg while I had them and then to resume the 75mg when I picked them up. They refused to even give me the 150mg that my insurance already approved it but the reshelved it last week.
They wouldn’t even suggest to give me 3 days worth until I could get in touch with my dr on Tuesday since this was a 3 day weekend. Yet they still refused after I had to tell the pharmacist that I would be going into withdrawals by the third day. Right now I am sick in bed starting my withdrawals from not having this med in my system. I will probably be in complete withdrawals by 3 AM and will be on my way to the emergency room for medical treatment. This is NOT a narcotic it is a psyche medication that I have been on for 7 years.
All because of your staff in the pharmacy. The female pharmacist who looks at you like you are beneath her. She acted like she was royalty and I was scum. The male pharmacist who tried to be kind but then became just as rude as the female pharmacist. The cashier Kat who I’m sure was saddened by her peers refusal of helping me out to prevent me to seek medical. I have added the picture of the female pharmacist who refused to give me her name. I blame her for my need to be admitted. I have reported to Safeway corporate and I am waiting for a follow up thru them because this pharmacy has put my elderly body as well as mental and emotional wellbeing at stake for their lack of compassion. I have pulled all of my prescriptions as well as my family members prescriptions from this Safeway.
If they would have just given me the approved 150mg that they reshelved I would not have to be spending $1,000s of dollars on an emergency hospital visit.
This is not done with. I am demanding a follow up because I refuse to be treated this way as well as my health being compromised by the lack of human compassion from staff that took an oath. I am very sure that I was a topic of their conversation and getting the stories straight between the pharmacists.
I will fight for the little guy while people like these two pharmacists will try to stomp on you to keep from speaking up. Wrong is wrong!!!!

Recently every time I go to Safeway I'm bombarded by the homeless begging for money and cigarettes and they keep the bathroom locked so you have to get a code to use them 😞

Needed a bouquet for an impromptu baby shower. Jeanette in floral made us one of the nicest bouquets ever. Surpassed all our expectations. Ordered two days in advance. Was done and waiting for us. Balloons were ready as well. So professional and personable.

We ordered a cake in October and the name was spelled incorrectly. We gave them a second chance 2 months later. I had ordered a WHITE cake with raspberry filling and a Vanilla whip cream frosting. The only thing about this cake that was correct this the picture I chose. We received a BIGGER SIZE cake then ordered , it was chocolate with butter cream everything. Needless to say my 4 year old didn't eat it on her birthday. They have lovely cakes but poor staff who listen to your wants.
